Sessions

Human Givens therapy is designed to be focused, effective and lasting. Research has found that more than three in four clients were either symptom-free or significantly improved after an average of just 3.6 sessions.*

Most people I see make significant progress within 4–8 sessions, although some achieve the outcomes they are looking for in only one or two. More complex or longstanding difficulties may require longer-term support.

New Leaf Counselling fees reflect this focused, outcomes-based approach. Human Givens therapy is not designed around open-ended therapy or committing clients to a predetermined number of sessions. Our intention is to help clients achieve the changes they want in as short a timeframe as is appropriate, while equipping them with the understanding and tools they need to move forward independently.

If therapy is not producing meaningful progress, we will discuss this openly and, where appropriate, help identify a more suitable therapist, service or therapeutic approach.

We do not ask clients to pay in advance for a package of consultations or a course of treatment.

Outcome Measures

We use a range of measures to help us understand each client’s progress and response to therapy. If clients are happy to do so, they may also be asked to complete a brief anonymised questionnaire. This helps the therapist understand the client’s needs, consider how best to support them, and evaluate therapeutic outcomes.
