Counselling in
Mid Suffolk
Meet your needs
Heal your trauma
Calm anxiety
Operating in Suffolk, I work with educators, families and young people to help them navigate life when it feels difficult.
My career spans two decades across the mental health and education sectors.
I began my professional path as a qualified teacher working within a variety of settings both locally and internationally.
Following my classroom experience I moved into the charitable sector to lead services for children and young people. Today, alongside my therapy practice, I mentor students online and have also spent the past two years providing professional counselling as a volunteer for Suffolk Mind.

Testimonial
‘I reached out to Katie at a time when anxiety was starting to take over my life. I didn’t really know what to expect, but from the first session, she made me feel completely at ease. Her approach was so different to anything I’d tried before - gentle, reassuring, and really practical/logical which is how my mind works. I’ve found myself using the breathing techniques she taught me in everyday moments, and they’ve honestly made such a difference. For the first time in a long time, I feel like I’m starting to take back a bit of control.

Support for Educators
Are you an educator in need of some support?
Teaching can bring unique pressures and challenges. You don't have to wait until things feel unmanageable....
Here are some of the things I can help with:
- Stress and burnout - workload, constant demands, feeling unable to switch off.
- Work-life boundaries - guilt about leaving work at work, or the feeling of never doing enough.
- Anxiety - particularly around observations, inspections, performance, workload or difficult situations.
- Low self-esteem/imposter syndrome - feeling inadequate despite being experienced or successful
- Difficult colleagues or workplace conflict - feeling unsupported, bullied or isolated
- Perfectionism - the pressure to be endlessly patient, inspirational and an effective educator
- Challenging behaviour - emotional impact of dealing with aggression, disruption or repeated difficult behaviour
- Parent relationships - dealing with complaints, confrontation or unreasonable expectations
- Safeguarding - related emotional strain - carrying difficult information
- Compassion fatigue - caring deeply for young people whilst gradually becoming emotionally exhausted.
- Career uncertainty - questioning whether to stay in education, change roles, or leaving the profession.
- Returning to work after children/career break
- Emotional exhaustion - sometimes presenting as 'I just don't care anymore'

Support for Families & Young People
